Name: Bust of an Unknown Roman
Picture:
Description: Rome, Vatican Museum. H. 0.58m. Republican portrait of a statesman, his toga draped loosely about his neck. He is old, perhaps in his sixties, with a haggard, lined face, a worried expression, sharp nose, protruding eyes and a slightly parted mouth. Date: First century B.C.
