Description:	By Polykleitos. Roman copy of a bronze original. H. 1.95m (whole statue). Head of a youth tying a fillet around his head. He looks down and to the left, concentrating on his action, his face serene and calm in his athletic victory for which he has won the fillet.
Date:	c. 440-430 B.C.
Discussion:	In very much the same mould as the Doryphoros, Polykleitos' Diadoumenos nevertheless can be dated later, being the softer, more polished work. The interest in movement and the balance of the body is still present, only it is more fluid and subtle as the sculptor matured his style.
