| Description: |
West pediment, Temple of Zeus, Olympia. Olympia Museum. H. 0.38m. Head of a female Lapith carried off by a Centaur. Her head is tilted up and to the right. Her features are almost obscured by weathering, but her eyes are almond-shaped and her mouth wide in a grimace of disgust. Her hair is centrally-parted, curling at the side of her face, and is gathered into a bun at the nape of her neck. |
