Description: H. 17.6cm, diam. 10.6cm. Grey-white encrustation over surface. Large piece of the neck lost and a small hole on the belly, opposite the handle. Coarse reddish clay, brown-orange mottled paint. Overfired. A vertical handle extends from the middle of the neck to the widest section of the body. Scored horizontal line and ridge at the base of the neck. Vertical shaved effect around the neck and handle, horizontal shaved marks on the body. Around the neck and on the outside of the handle are vertical painted lines. Uneven, horizontal painted lines cover the whole of the body. A notch on the base may have been caused by the use of a string to remove the jug from the wheel.
