Description: H. 15.3cm, max. diam. 14.2cm. Broken and mended. Mouth and spout cracked. White encrustation, especially on underside of base. Medium texture orange clay, slipped. Small ring-base, globular body. Strap handle, spout at one end, ring mouth at the other.
Date: Fourth to third century B.C.
Discussion: Produced throughout Southern Italy, this type includes both plain slipped and black glazed examples (see University of Reading 16.ii.I; CVA Great Britain 12, pl. 39.13). For the shape see J.P. Morel Cèramique Campanienne (1981) type 8212b). Italian, probably Campanian.
