Name: Attic Oinoiche
Picture:
Description: H. 7.9cm, diam. 6cm. Greyish-tan accretion along the foot and at the neck and mouth. Fine orange glaze covered with back glaze. The foot is reserved. The glaze has chipped off along the edges of the mouth and in small areas on the neck, handle and shoulder. Much of the glaze on the front half of the vessel has been worn away and the orange clay is clearly visible. In this area there is also a large splotch of black glaze -- a clumsy mistake on an otherwise attractive vessel. Trefoil mouth; no decoration.
Date: Fifth century B.C.
