H. 8.3cm, L. 10.5cm. Back left leg, both horns and ears lost. Front right leg broken and mended. Surface worn. Cream clay and ruddy brown paint. Hollow figure, aperture at back of neck. The pierced snout of the animal served as a spout. Horizontal loop handle along the back. Right ear and base of horn partially preserved. Relief eyes, each consisting of two blobs of clay. The body is painted with vertical lines which extend down the legs. They also appear to extend up to the neck but the surface is too worn in this area for the pattern to be determined.
Date:
Late Bronze Age.
Discussion:
The narrow waist, bulbous rear and dot-circle relief eye are typical of Late Bronze Age Cypriot examples. Cf. British Museum A 25, A 26, A 27, A 28, A 41, A 45, A 56, CVA 1, pl. 9.3, 6, 14-18.
