My dear Lord,
I am honored with your Lordship’s letter of the 20th, and tho’ I must ingenuously own that I neither apprehend so much danger as your Lordship states from the designs of Opposition, nor consider the Remedy you propose as practicable, I beg at the same time to assure your Lordship that the Communication of your sentiments on this or any other subject will always afford me great Pleasure, as a flattering mark of the Confidence and good opinion with which you have honored me. I am, with great Respect and Regard, My Dear Lord,
Your Lordship’s Most obedient and faithful servant,
W. Pitt
