Transcription
Inverness the 23 April 1746 My Lord Sutherland. I have received your Letter of the 19th from Dunrobine Castle and desire you would place your Self with your Man at the head of Lord Lovats & the Chishulms Country, & trie if Lord Lovat is to be – catch’d that way, & likewise that in your passage you would take proper notice of such of the McKenzies as have been in the Rebellion.
Mr Dundas has the necessary orders from me, to assist your Country with Corn as far as it may be in his Power, so you will explain your Self to Him as to particulars. I am your affectionate friend.
